Indented Cylinder
Description:
The Indosaw Indent Cylinder Separator is used to grade granular materials by length, enabling the separation of undesirable long or short impurities and admixtures.
As the product passes through the inlet housing, it enters the interior of a rotating cylinder lined with indents (impressed pockets) on its inner surface. Shorter grains fit into these indents and are lifted as the cylinder rotates. They are then carried by a screw conveyor and discharged into a collection trough.
Meanwhile, longer grains that do not fit into the indents remain inside the cylinder shell and are discharged separately through the outlet casing. This process effectively sorts the material based on length or roundness, depending on the desired grade.
- Auger and trough are provided to collect and carry out broken or short length seeds easily.
- Fine trough adjustment for good separation.
- With by pass system.
- Walkway on the side of an Indented Cylinder column or between Cylinder column.

Grains & Seeds
This machine is suitable for all types of free-flowing grains, including:
- Wheat, Paddy (rice), Maize (corn), Barley, Millets (bajra, ragi, etc.), Pulses (e.g., lentils, chickpeas, pigeon peas), Soybeans, Mustard, sunflower, and other oilseeds, Coffee beans, Spices (e.g., coriander, cumin)
Functions
- Separates grains based on length (removes shorter or broken grains from whole ones)
- Eliminates immature, split, or shriveled grains through length differentiation
- Performs precise grading to ensure uniform grain size
- Improves product appearance and milling performance
- Enhances seed quality by removing undersized and malformed seeds
Industry Usage
Indented Cylinder Separators are commonly used in:
- Seed processing plants
- Grain grading and cleaning units
- Oilseed processing units
- Coffee and spice processing plants
- Dal and pulse mills
