About: Steinlite has been manufacturing dielectric (capacitance) grain moisture meters in America since 1931, following the invention of the technology by Mr. Stein. The Steinlite moisture tester SL95 is a fully automatic, NTEP-approved digital moisture meter that delivers precise results in under 10 seconds. Its design eliminates the possibility of tampering or human interference, ensuring reliable readings.

Construction: The moisture meter is housed in a sturdy sheet metal body with a grain funnel at the top for sample feeding. A 20×4 LCD display on the tapered front shows the commodity name, test weight, instructions, error messages, and grain temperature, while a 4-digit LED indicates the moisture content percentage. The front panel includes 20 keys for easy operation and commodity selection. After testing, the grain is collected in a box at the bottom. Leveling feet and bubble levels ensure the machine stays perfectly horizontal for accurate results.
Working Principle: The Steinlite SL95 Grain Moisture checking machine works by measuring the dielectric constant of grains. Since water has a higher dielectric constant than grains, the meter detects moisture content by how it changes the grain’s ability to store electrical energy. It uses a capacitor for this measurement and converts the result into a moisture percentage, with calibration for different grains and temperature compensation for accuracy.
Operation: The SL95 operates without the need for pre-weighing. Simply power on the device, select the grain type, pour in approximately 450 grams of your sample, and press the LOAD key. Within 10 seconds, the moisture content will appear on the LED screen. After viewing the result, press the DUMP key to discharge the grain into the collection box
Standards: It is NTEP Certified. This certification ensures that the SL95 meets the high international standard, providing confidence in its accuracy and reliability as a moisture measurement device.
